Top of the day to you!
I was speaking with a couple good friends of mine the other day and they mentioned
that they would like to try some of my recipes, but they didn't know where to
get the ingredients. And when they did find them, they were totally in the woods
about how to pick them.
So what I've decided to do from now on is to give you a little bit of data
on some of the ingredients, i.e. how to pick them for one!
One medium pear contains fewer than 100 Calories. Pears are rich in Potassium
and Pectin Fiber. Each one contains about 7 mg of Vitamin C.
And my real favorite ones are the Bosc Pears. Here's how I pick them. I always
look for the most consistent color that is totally devoid of a greenish tint!
Then I look for a dry stem and that there are no blemishes on them. Now pears
are unique in that they ripen after they're picked at room temperature.
So this week's recipe:
INGREDIENTS!
2 Bosc Pears
2 Bananas
2 ounces of Raisins
2 Dates
In the center of a plate, cut the Bosc Pears into one quarter inch slices.
Then surround with Bananas slices and sprinkle the raisins all over the top
of the platter and slice the Dates in half put them on top of the Pears. This
is incredibly delicious and easy as the dickens to make. ENJOY!
