Top of the day to you!
After watching a Viet Nam Movie "Regret to Inform" tonight that I
checked out of the library a couple days ago, it got to me as I spent 2 years
and 3 months over there. But it really made me grateful to be able to send you
some healthful tips each week as so many of the guys either did not come back
or are so mangled up that virtually can't do anything like this.
War is a bad thing. But it makes me want to do even more for you, as I know
I can. But when people say they can't do more healthy things for themselves
as it might mean a change, I find that hard to deal with.
So for all of you who have been writing me each week (and there have been 100's
and 100's of you) letting me know what a difference it's making in your life,
I would only hope that after this short interlude of a saddened state I found
myself in that you truly know how much I appreciate you. Makes me want to do
more for you.
In the P.S. Section of this message, there are 3 things of value for you other
than this recipe I made today that was outrageous.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup of Dried Mango
1 cup of Dried Banana Chips
1 cup of Raisins
1 cup of Dried Mission Figs
1 cup of Deglet Noor Dates (The most common of the dates)
1 cups of Prunes with the pits removed
Take all these ingredients and put them into your food processor and let them
get to a chewy consistency and then take the mixture out and either make balls
out of them or roll them into a log form. These make an incredible morning snack
if you feel like having something else to eat before the noon meal.
This is probably my favorite treat when I'm on the road or I'm stuck in an
airport, I have them as a back up for an incredible energy source. And let's
say I'm on a 30-50 mile bike ride, this is about the best source of Quick Energy
I know of if I'm low or if I'm stopping to watch a bunch of heron in the canals.
I have a terrific scenic route we call the loop that goes through all the swamp
areas and the natural scenes are a site to behold. Sometimes I ride on the Ocean
Road (A1A) when I do my longer rides they come in more than handy. I've never
found anyone yet that didn't go ape over them. Enjoy!
Wayne "The Mango Man"
P.S. I've been getting a lot of concern about why I haven't been recommending
any music lately. Well I found an album (C/D = I sometimes date myself with
my vernacular) a few days ago and was so jazzed about that as my cassette broke
and all my albums that I taped everything got stolen from my storage..all 2000
of them. It's called "The Sweetest Pain" by Dexter Wanzel! Makes me
nervous and jerky just thinkin' about it!
Enjoy your week!
