Top of the day to you.
And I do have to say it's been a beauty here in the sunny south. And it was
indeed a sunny day today where I took my daily nap on my trampoline and ran
on the beach in just a pair of running shorts. I came home and since Squash
is in season, I thought I'd prepare one and man it was a winner. You know I
used to hate squash as of the texture and flavor. Of course I never had one
prepared the way they're supposed to so I was always turned off of them. So
if that has been your experience with them, I would encourage you to give it
another try as they are so great for you especially at this time of year. My
two favorite squashes are the Acorn and the Butternut. The Butternut Squash
is the better of the two in my opinion. Anyway, try this one.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Acorn Squash
1 small pinch of Cayenne Pepper
1 cup of fresh Corn right off the Cob
1 small pinch of Cinnamon
One half teaspoon Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 small pinch of Sea Kelp
Wash off the Acorn Squash and cut it in half! Cut the Corn off the cob and
mix it with the 1 small pinch of Cayenne Pepper; 1 small pinch of Cinnamon;
one half teaspoon Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil and
1 small pinch of Sea Kelp and put the mixture in the Acorn Squash halves.
Place it in a vegetable steamer with about one half inch of distilled water
in the bottom of the pot for about 20-30 minutes on a low heat after you first
brought it to a boil.
Garnish when it's finished with a little sweet Basil and enjoy! This is a great
Noon Meal and a good habit to embrace. The Starches we have found have been
to best way to carry you through for the rest of the day with an abundance of
energy.
The beginning of a habit is like an invisible thread. Every time you repeat
the act you strengthen the strand. Add to it another filament with each repetition,
until it becomes a great cable and binds you irrevocably to each thought and
act.
First you make your habits, and then they make you. Your thoughts lead you
to your purpose. Your purpose always manifests into action. Your actions form
your habits. Your habits decide your character, and your character fixes your
destiny.
Your habits are either the best of servants or the worst of masters. A great
habit to make a reality in your life would be to eat good stuff so you'll always
be tough. You're worth it.
