"The Best Oils to Eat-2"
3-19-00

Top of the day to each of you!

I've made a lot of mistakes learning my computer and one mistake I've made and I'm still trying to figure it out is how some of the names got on my list. If you are one of those folks who accidentally wound up on my list and want to unsubscribe, PLEASE let me know by replying with the word UNSUBSCRIBE! I certainly apologize about this as I know what a hassle it is to have a lot of unsolicited e-mails coming through, so I'll wait to hear from you!

I felt that I should add a little table of contents right at the beginning of my weekly messages from now on to save you from diggin' and siftin' for something you might want to reference later on!

This week:

Oil Message #2
Quote of the Week
Skin Lotion Recipe
Scriptural Nutrition Special Offering
C/D of the Week
The Miracle of the Wonderful You.
TESTIMONIAL of the Week.

As I mentioned last week, we all like that taste of butter on potatoes; bread and a baked hubbard or acorn squash, etc., however it's really not that good for us! As a matter of fact there is a mountain of information available on the health hazards of animal fats. Even though they taste good, there are so many better forms of that oily taste we look for in butter. God forbid you would eat margarine which is nothing more than plastic fat! There are 3 major categories of Food, i.e. PROTEINS, CARBOHYDRATES and FATS! So we need to have a certain amount of fat in our diets, so where do we get those kinds of fats and what's the best way to consume them.

I have a real eye-opening article coming up real soon about the 3 Foods to Avoid at all cost. I will be speaking for the National Speakers Association's Annual Convention in Washington, DC this year and this is an excerpt I will be sharing with that audience. Don't miss the up and coming article about it. You have 3 commandments to eating and 3 Foods to Avoid, which was entailed in my last week's special offering that each of you should have. It's an $80.00 package and we are letting it go for $30.00 and we pay the Shipping and Handling to boot. A must for your Nutritional Library and will set you ahead of all the rest of the mayhem that is selling like hot cakes out there. We are barely covering cost with this $30.00 package.

You'll probably see a bit of repetition to the beginning of this weeks message/article for two reasons: 1) a lot of people signed up to be on our weekly e-mail blast and I couldn't emphasize enough the importance of this oil information & 2) most people take for granted how lethal cooked oils really are. And a lot of folks tell me they taste good when they are cooked. That's true, but then I have to go back to one of my quotes and I will make this my QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "We seem to be serving food on the basis of taste and tradition and we do it in haste and not nutrition!" The most important thing to remember about eating oils is NEVER COOK THEM! In my nutritional counseling business, I've found that when I get my clients OFF the cooked oils and especially the COOKED ANIMAL oils most of their skin rashes and blemishes clear up. I can remember when I was in high school that was a going concern as a teenager….ZITS! I wish I knew what I knew now about all this, as I would have been so much healthier as a result. I feel this is worth mentioning; "It's too bad that we have to live over half of our life just to learn how to live it."

I would also recommend cold pressed oils and preferably from a vegetable source. And I always keep them in the fridge to help keep them from going rancid as quickly as they would if they are kept outside of the fridge in the cupboards, etc. You can always locate these at your local health food store. And oh Yes, HOW MUCH OIL TO EAT! I always limit them to one half to one ounce per person per meal.

So here are my 6 favorite oils that I use when I prepare food! And I will be giving you a recipe each week in this order…last week was the Flaxseed Oil, now to the Sesame Seed Oil.
1. Flaxseed Oil
2. Sesame Seed Oil
3. Almond Oil
4. Olive Oil
5. Canola Oil
6. Walnut Oil

This week's recipe is a great skin lotion using Sesame Seed Oil. I already gave you a recipe with the Sesame Seed Oil a few weeks ago with the String Bean & Asparagus Dish. That is a tremendous way to use Sesame Seed Oil when you prepare food. But I thought since I'm into healthy recipes, why not this week give you I feel is one of the best recipes for skin lotion I've ever come up wit. Check this one out and I welcome your impute on this one. I've already got quite a few of my Nutritional Counseling Clients doing this and they are ecstatic about it. If you would ever like for me to put you on a total personalized diet, we love doing it so let me know and I will e-mail you what's all entailed in that service.

Ingredients for the LOTION

  • Some Pure Aloe Vera Gel (can be purchased at most health food stores.) or at least the 98% pure kind.
  • Sesame Seed Oil (can be purchased at most health food stores.)
  • Na-PCA (can also be purchased at most health food stores.)
  • One quarter ounce of your favorite essential oil for essence only.

Now I take a 12-ounce plastic bottle and mix 4 ounces of the Aloe Vera Gel and 4 ounces of the Sesame Seed Oil and 1 ounce of the Na-PCA and shake well. Sometimes I'll put maybe about one quarter ounce of my favorite essential oil in there for the essence but purely optional. Naomi Rhode, you will love this oil and will help to keep your skin to be continually radiant. We luv ya madly all of us hither and yon!

I use this Skin Lotion after every shower or especially when I get off the beach. ENJOY!
