Good Morning Everyone.
It's not often I recommend any Electronic Kitchen Device, but after 26 years
with the same one and have used it at least 4 days a week ever since, I couldn't
hold it back any longer. It's the VITA-MIX! It's a kitchen blender, soup maker,
whips up the best ice creams and makes some incredible breads. I don't eat that
much bread, maybe a loaf or two a year at the most, but when I did make bread
with it, it was memorable. Most of the recipes I've sent you so far that required
blending; I always used the VITA-MIX! I have the 3600 model but the new 5000
model is a way ahead of its time. I have a Wok, a Vegetable Steamer; Rice Cooker;
Nut Grinder; Hand Held Blender; Hand Held Soup Maker; Popcorn Maker; Vegetable
Juicer; Food Processor and the VIA-MIX! I have to tell you as I was telling
my good friend DAN JACOCKS today while we were throwing the Frisbee on the beach
(he walked from Seattle, WA to the Florida border a few years back which took
him 22 months and was totaled out at 4300 miles enduring 2 harsh winters) that
the VITA-MIX is the ONLY kitchen tool that stays permanently on my kitchen counter
top as I use it so much. With all that said, let me give you my VITA-8 Vegetable
Drink! This drink is probably the most consistent vegetable drink I make.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Tomato
1 Red Bell Pepper
1 Green Bell Pepper
4 Stalks of Celery
1 medium size Yellow Summer Squash
1 medium size Zucchini Squash
1 Clove of Garlic
1 medium size pickling (non waxed) Cucumber
In the Vita-Mix put the Tomato and Cucumber in first. Start on a low, forward
speed then drop the Clove of Garlic in through the small opening at the top
and then the Bell Peppers with the stem and seeds removed. Then drop the 2 Squashes
in and then finish off with the 4 Stalks of Celery! Blend for about 30 -45 seconds.
This is a winner every time I share it with my friends. Sometimes I even add
some ground almonds on the top of it with a sprig of Parsley for the garnish.
This is a sure fire 3 Hail Mary's and 2 Boy Howdy's along with a slight "Pick
Shuffle"! I know you'll write me about this one. This is a biggie. ENJOY!
