Top of the day to you

I learned a long time ago in any business that the very basic component of success is to give people what they want and NOT what they need. I have had so many requests for SNACKS! So for the next couple recipes I'm going to share with you some incredible snacks so you can have a wide variety of choices.

I am convinced that if we eat correctly, snacks will not be an issue in our life no matter how attached we are to food. It's a known fact that there are basic laws of nature as well as in business and if we violate them then we will pay with failure. We never argue with customers is a good rule of thumb in sales. We can't jump out of a 10-story building and expect to go NORTHEAST! Ain't gonna happen… you're going down sure as shootin'. That's a basic law of gravity.

One more is that we can NEVER poison ourselves into health. We can only be healthy when we do healthy things. So why do we expect a level of health, weight loss success or gaining energy when we persist on eating ourselves to oblivion with platitudes like I need to snack? One of the main reasons we find ourselves snacking is that our body is still craving nutrients all the while we are stuffed with whatever we just ate and it's usually less than adequate food.

We are eating mainly today because of emotion and not because we have to. We eat 'cause we WANT to. And one of the real pleasures of life seems to be centered on food. So next week is my monthly article and then I'll resume with more snacks in 2 weeks from today.

Well now that I've vented that point, let me go a step in another direction. How about a good snack for when you are dozin' and drulin' around the tube? Here's an addictive snack if I ever saw one. I have NEVER fed this one to anyone who didn't rant and rave about it and called me to tell me how many times they prepare it in a week. I must warn you ahead of time, THIS IS ADDICITVE!

One last thing before I share this one with you is to be mindful of a line I coined several years ago, "The Size of the Snacks DETERMINES the Size of the Slacks."

Let's say it's evening and it's already been a couple hours since you ate and you definitely want something to munch on. Check this out:

INGREDIENTS:

6 Bananas
3 Dates
6 Carob Chips (Like Chocolate Chips) you can buy from your health food store)

The RECIPE

Most grocery stores have bananas that go on sale because of some spots on them and can usually get them for $0.15 a pound. Actually the spots are the sugar spots indicating that the banana is now ready to eat. What you can do is to peel them all and cut them up and put 6 bananas in plastic freezer bags and freeze them. When you want that snack, take a bag of them out and put them in your blender (a Vitamix is really a good tool with this snack). Blend them up with the dates (remove the pits of course) which will take about 2-3 minutes. This makes the best Ice Cream I've ever had. When you try this, you will be making up excuses to have people by to try it out.

Gene Paige, this feeds two people now my man. But just in case you think Nancy is getting more than you, then add a couple more bananas and another date.

Enjoy this and let me know how you like it.
