Top of the day to you
It's been storming likes the dickens here in the not too sunny Florida since
last night and I wanted to wait to let it ease up before I went to town on my
computer with this week's message. But I'm glad I did as last evening I had
company and when I prepared a salad they told me how much they liked it and
thought the salad dressing was more than delicious.
When I told them there was NO Salad Dressing on it, they couldn't believe it.
They said it was a must that I share this with you today so I got to thinking,
"If you have 1 dollar and I have 1 dollar and we exchange dollars, then
we each have 1 dollar. BUT if you have 1 idea and I have 1 idea and we exchange
ideas then each of us has 2 ideas." So check this idea out and see what
happens for you.
INGREDIENTS:
6 Romaine Lettuce Leaves
1 Stalk of Celery
1 Orange Bell Pepper (I like the flavor of them the best)
1 Tomato
1 Lime
1 small Yellow Summer Squash
1 small Zucchini Squash
2 small non-waxed Pickling Cucumbers
1 Avocado
One-quarter teaspoon of Dried Basil
One-quarter teaspoon of Dried Parsley
One-quarter teaspoon of Dried Oregano
THE RECIPE:
After washing all the ingredients, cut the Romaine Lettuce leaves up and put
on the bottom of a salad bowl. Then chop the Celery up and the 1 small Yellow
Summer Squash, the 1 Orange Bell Pepper, the 1 small Zucchini Squash and the
2 small non-waxed Pickling Cucumbers into smaller pieces. Then squeeze one half
of the Lime over it.
Then cut the Avocado into small pieces and put all over the mixture. Now sprinkle
the one-quarter teaspoon of Dried Basil, Dried Parsley and Dried Oregano all
over the mixture. Now cut the Tomato into small pieces and put on top of it
while squeezing the 2nd half of the Lime over the rest.
Now here's the trick to it all. Take 2 wooden spoons and toss the salad until
you can hardly see any Avocado. This will make an incredible blend that will
taste so delicious that it will make even the most stubborn salad hater bend
to the max. This is terrific and will delight anyone who tries it with you.
This should make enough for at least 2 people.
Now if you want to add a little something extra to give it that cheesy effect,
then in a coffee grinder, chop of into a powder, about 2-4 ounces of your favorite
seeds or nuts. I will do the Sunflower Seeds as they grind up into a fine powder
in less than 10 seconds. Where as most nuts will gum up the machine a little
bit and won't give it that effect you are looking for.
Now food is not the most important thing in the world, I feel love is. Fortunately
I love food
