Top of the day to you
I'm sitting here listening to a little bit of Steely Dan (Donald Fagen mostly)
and got to thinking about spending yesterday with a great friend (over 25 years)
of mine, Stillman Rice, who operates a class fitness facility for a huge marketing
corporation here in town. We wanted to get some marketing ideas down on paper,
talk about the latest nutrition information he had on his mind and eat some
great stuff. We spent about 6 hours together and there just wasn't a dull moment.
Or not enough time for that matter.
We shopped for some great food and I got to do all the cooking which was one
of those days that I even impressed myself. But with his high level of energy
for fitness on all levels and his very competitive edge for it as well, he is
always looking for ways to stay on top of the whole scene.
We talked about The best Salad Dressings, energy potions, etc. but one of the
biggest thoughts that was on his mind a lot of the day was what can you do for
best recovery from any fitness program you are doing in the form of food.
Over and above a great stretch, I always recommend a high Glycemic Index Food

immediately after the event! Right now watermelon is in season so that would
be my choice with all my athlete clients I have
then within 1 hour make
sure you have your Protein Meal. Always eat that high Glycemic Food that's in

Since most of my clients train towards the middle of the day then this becomes
quite easy. I train from 2-5 PM for about 1-2 hours each day. I have my energy
potion right before the event then within 5-10 minutes I'm on fire and ready
to go do something. Ask Stillman Rice at how on fire he was. We laughed about
that for a couple hours.
Any way, take today for example. It's my long bike ride and today was a hard
bike as the wind was strong and I wanted to get a hard one in as I have a big
swim coming up tomorrow. I'm trying to get ready for something special for my
55th birthday this Thursday (shameless plug)! Don't know what I'm gonna do yet
but when Jack LaLanne compliments me on what I did for my 50th, I was stoked
and more motivated than ever to do something for each birthday that comes in
multiples of 5's!
But after I got through of my 35-mile ride today I came home and ate a huge
slab of cool seedless watermelon and within the hour I had an awesome recipe
I made a couple years ago that I was going to share with you. It's #1 = the

When I go over these recipes that I've shared with you for the last 4 + years
I like to try some of them again too. I come up with different ones each week
that I'm never lost for one but as I scan this C/D ROM I think, "Wow that
one would be great to try again."
Just the same, it's so easy to do all this when you want it bad enough. You
know what it all boils down to? "It's the START that STOPS most people."
Starting is the key if you want to be successful at anything you want most
in life. Your willingness to act, to overcome inertia, is the first step on
your path to success of it. The courage to begin always separates dreamers from
achievers.
You are surrounded by opportunity for success. The underused library is an
incredible resource for you. And I'm here for you for that encouragement. It's

Start where you stand, and work with the tools you have at your command, and
better tools will be found as you go along.
The first step is the hardest. Take it. As I mentioned, "It's the START

We are in the rarest time in our history with the Best chance to be healthy
& prosperous. We will look back on this time like we do now when the real
estate boom was so big. And the silver and gold boom days.
We generally pay attention when someone predicts a change in our existing situation
throughout
history there have been profits or soothsayers who predict good and bad times
and
the ones who predict a change in the status quo, almost always received the
most attention. Well let me assure you right now that we are in the best times
this world has ever known.
