"Mango Man's Wild Tabouleh"

I'm sitting here and listening to Randy Travis singing "Too Gone" and I thought you might be thinking I'm far gone tonight but let's have some fun. I call this recipe my Wild Tabouleh. The dictionary defines Tabouleh as a Lebanese salad made with bulgur wheat and finely chopped scallions, tomatoes, mint, and parsley.

Well I'm not too much in favor of wheat so I wondered how I could make this without it and bingo I hit the jackpot. And one other thing, so many folks say this way of eating is so expensive. It so much cheaper it's mind-boggling. Remember, I like food that's fast, easy and cheap but of the highest quality. This lunch I made for two people today and we ate it on the way over to the Orange Grove to get that last batch of the Navel Oranges from the great Dave Fedor in DeLand, FL only cost $3.67 and we were both full.

I took one cup of Wild Rice and two cups of Water with a little dash of Cayenne Pepper and a quarter teaspoon of Oregano and brought it to a boil for 30 seconds. I then turned the stove down to low for another 45 minutes then I shut it off completely. I then put the Rice into a dish and pour one-ounce of Olive Oil over it along with some Parsley and Basil and mix thoroughly.

Now here's where it gets good. I like a lot of raw food each day (I usually have about 70% raw and the rest is cooked in a myriad of ways, poaching, steaming, etc. but never fry as the more you fry the sooner you die.) and here is a great thing to do to accomplish that. I take a head of Raw Organic Broccoli and take a cheese slicer (from my old days) and run the Broccoli across it until all the Broccoli Seeds or Petals or whatever you call just the tops (and not the florets) are in the bowl. Mix it well and enjoy.

Be sure that you use NO TOMATOES as it's a bad combination with Starches = Refer to our Food Combining Guide for all this information, which will eliminate indigestion pretty much entirely. Now about the "taking too much time" thing that everyone tells me. No problem, I always listen to a marketing tape or educational tape in my Sony Walkman so I don't begrudge the process thinking I'm wasting time or the like. It's like my University in the Kitchen sort of thing. My only encouragement here would be to try not to wait until you have to as it's so much easier when you get to.

No one that has ever lived has ever had enough power, prestige, or knowledge to overcome the basic condition of all life------- you win some and you lose some.

The difference between greatness and mediocrity will be how often you try. The greatest mistake you can make is to be afraid of making one. The earlier you make those mistakes the better. Don't be afraid to try.

Decide what you want with your health. Set those goals high as the world will turn aside and let you pass if you know where you are going.

All your dreams are attainable if you try.

I'm amazed at the different health problems people have risen above when they just tweaked their nutritional plan. Treat your self to the best, as you honestly deserve them.
